Hi everyone, and welcome to the new look GMTG website - just in time to begin a new year with a new committee. You can meet the committee and learn a little more about us by heading to the Committee link on the left. I can’t tell you how much we are looking forward to what is gearing up to be an amazing year for GMTG, after the success of West Side Story last term we are now looking forward to our next production - Sweeney Todd, to be performed in Week 9 of the Autumn Term, with auditions for it to be held in Week 1. We’re continuing with our termly showcases to give the opportunity of performing in front of an audience to a larger number of students, and our regular workshops to give you the chance to learn more about various different areas of theatre. GMTG seems to just be going from strength to strength at the moment, with a 9 person strong committee leading the way as we look towards a year of shows, rehearsals, hard work, but above all... FUN!

I love that no matter what your interest in Musical Theatre, on stage or off, whether it be something you’ve been interested in for years or a newfound interest, GMTG can provide an environment for anyone to nurture his or her talents, everyone can be involved. I know a large amount of members of the Society are actors, dancers and singers, and what a talented group of people they are, but equally GMTG would not be able to be the society it is without the involvement of musicians, back-stage teams, production teams, and even those who simply enjoy watching musical theatre, and this year, more than ever, I believe is a year to bring people of all interests and disciplines into the society and find a way for them to showcase their talents.

We welcome new members for their enthusiasm as much as we welcome the experience of long standing members. For any more information or to become a member, come along to our stall at the Freshers’ Fair, or the Sweeney Todd auditions in Week 1. We’ll be more than happy to meet you and introduce you to the society. Alternatively you can contact us through student development in the Guild of Students.
