President: Aimée Harrison

Maths III

Aimée is in her final year reading Maths at the University of Birmingham. She has been involved with GMTG since she started at the University, almost accidentally; by agreeing to help a friend construct some flats for a production of Kiss Me, Kate. Since then she has enjoyed working as part of the backstage/technical crew for each subsequent production, taking time out from her backstage work in Spring 2008 in order to produce A Slice of Saturday Night for the society.

Aimée feels honoured to have been elected as President of the Society for the academic year 2009-2010 and is looking forward to working the other members of the committee in building on the wonderful work of previous committees to build a society that future years students can be even more proud to be members of.

No PhotoDevelopment Officer: Jo Symes

Accounting & Finance II

Hi everyone! My name is Jo Symes, I'm a third year accounting and finance student and I first became involved in GMTG when a friend asked me to help out backstage for the May 2009 production of West Side Story. Though I haven't been a member for long, a number of people suggested that I might be good at the role of Development Officer. The job mostly entails fundraising, raising awareness of the society and creating relationships with the local community. In an effort to broaden our repertoire, I plan to introduce a Monthly Movie Musical event, so that members and patrons can enjoy the wonderment of musical theatre even when we haven't had time to do our own productions. The bake sale tradition will hopefully be continued on these nights to raise more funds. I am also trying to obtain corporate sponsorship and develop links with local schools, so that we can inspire the younger generation to become interested followers and active participants. I am also co-stage managing this November's upcoming production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - it's going to be a busy year!

No PhotoMusic Liaison Officer: Patrick Stockbridge

Music & Maths II

Patrick is a 2nd year Music and Maths student who has a passion for all styles of music but by joining GMTG has increased his appreciation for music theatre and the work which goes on behind the scenes. Inside and outside of school, Patrick enjoyed drama and singing from an early age. In Sixth form he began to explore the musical direction side of a show, helping to rehearse and conduct Oliver and Dracula Spectacula and found the production team equally or even more satisfying to be a part of. In spring, Patrick acted as Assistant Musical Director and Pianist for the GMTG production of West Side Story and found it rewarding seeing everyone progress and bond as a team, before producing a show of such a high all-round standard! Patrick is taking the AMD role again in Sweeney Todd and joined the GMTG Committee so he can give something back to the society.
